Fairy Tail anime to continue next April

Earlier this March, A-1 Pictures’ and Satelight’s anime adaptation of Hiro Mashima’s popular Weekly Shonen Magazine manga series Fairy Tail ended, although almost immediately afterwards it was more or less confirmed that a second series was in the works. Next week’s issue of Weekly Shonen Magazine has surfaced online and revealed that the Fairy Tail anime will be resuming in April 2014.

While many of the series’ staff are returning to their old positions (such as director Shinji Ishihara and the voice actors for the five lead characters), while there are also some changes, such as Studio Bridge (2nd Key Animation for Kids On The Slope and Sword Art Online) will be taking over Satelight’s duties and Shinji Takeuchi (Gintama) is taking over as character designer.

Manga Entertainment have been releasing the original Fairy Tail anime on DVD and Blu-Ray in the United Kingdom.
