Amazon Prime to Exclusively Stream Kokkoku: Moment by Moment this January

Details for titles streaming for the Winter 2018 season are slowly approaching, but Amazon have another title incoming.

The newly formed production Geno Studios have announced a slate of titles and one of them will be streaming exclusively on the Amazon Prime service for both Japan and worldwide.

The title in question is an anime adaptation of the 2009 manga Kokkoku: Moment by Moment by Seita Horio. The series will begin broadcast in Japan during the Winter 2018 anime season starting this January via Tokyo MX and BS11 television stations.

UPDATE 7th January 2018: The series is now available to stream on the service, you can view the show pages here for Amazon UK, Amazon US, and Amazon Canada (which requires a Prime subscription to view the page itself).

Staff details for the anime have also been revealed, with Yoshimitsu Ohashi (Galaxy Angel) taking the helm of director and Twin Engine being credited with its production. Also joining the production are Noboru Kimura (Nyaruko: Crawling with Love!) for series composition, Yasuomi Umetsu (Kite) for original character designs, and Masaki Hinata (Katekyo Hitman Reborn!) adapting the designs for animation and as chief animation director. MICHIRU will be composing the music and “MIYAVI vs KenKen” will perform the anime’s theme song “Flashback.”

The story synopsis is as follows:

In order to save her brother and nephew who have been kidnapped by a mysterious religious group known as the Genuine Love Society, Juri and her family cast a spell using a stone hidden by her grandfather to enter the world of stopped time known as Stasis. However, when they infiltrate the kidnapper’s base, they’re met by other people who can also move about freely. With grotesque creatures lurking about, will they be able to escape the parallel world and return to their normal lives?!

The upcoming anime has an official website available for more additional information. Kodansha Comics have acquired the rights to the manga source material and have started releasing the first volume in digital format.

Geno Studios previously worked on the completion of Project Itoh: Genocidal Organ after studio Manglobe went bankrupt during its production. The other announced projects from the studio include an adaptation of Golden Kamuy with Hitoshi Nanba (Fate/Grand Order -First Order-) as director, and an untitled original anime project from Baccano!/Durarara!! Director Takahiro Ōmori.
