Amazon Prime to Exclusively Stream Animeism title Magical Girl Site this April

For a while we had known about a couple titles coming to Amazon Prime this April with one NoitaminA title (Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii), Fist of the Blue Sky, and just recently with Beatless continuing its run from the Winter season. Today, we can confirm that there will be a new anime joining the Animeism programming block this Spring season – Kentarō Satō’s Magical Girl Site.

Magical Girl Site (Mahou Shoujo Saito) is a 2013 manga spin-off series to Magical Girl Apocalypse, also written by Kentarō Satō, and the anime adaptation will be handled by studio Production doA (who’s other anime work was a Is the Order a Rabbit?? special episode back in November 2017).

Staff members who are adapting the series include:

  • Director: Tadahito Matsubayashi (Is the Order a Rabbit?)
  • Script Composition: Takayo Ikami (Mawaru Penguindrum)
  • Opening Theme Song Performed by: i☆Ris (Akiba’s Trip the Animation)

Cast members have been announced also:

  • Yuuko Ono (Konohana Kitan) as Aya Asagiri
  • Himika Akaneya (Dance with Devils) as Yatsumura Tsuyuno
  • Haruka Yamazaki (Monster Musume: Everyday Life with Monster Girls) as Sarina Shizukume
  • Yuu Serizawa (Shomin Sample) as Nijimi Anazawa
  • Aina Suzuki (Love Live! Sunshine!!) as Rina Shioi

“Asagiri Aya is a young girl who has fallen victim to bullies at her school. Looking for a way to escape her troubles, she looks to the internet for distraction, when a mysterious website called “Magical Girl Site” appears. Simply viewing the page is all it takes to hurtle Aya headlong into the deadly world of the Magical Girl Apocalypse. There, it’s fight or die, against a seemingly endless array of savagely adorable, frilly-skirted killing machines, each armed with magical powers and an unquenchable thirst for blood and chaos.”

At the time of this article there are currently no promotional materials (i.e. videos) but we’ll update this post as soon as they appear.

Magical Girl Site will air during the Spring 2018 anime season on Amazon Prime, you can find out what other anime titles will be airing on the platform throughout 2018 via our round-up list here.
