Anime Limited News: Love Live! Sunshine!!, Hyouka Part 2 & More!

It’s been nearly two months since the last round-up on the world of Anime Limited. New information have appeared like new artwork, Spring 2018 licenses and of course Gundam. Here’s the quick TL;DR on all of the news revealed throughout the past couple of weeks.


Love Live! Sunshine!!

Sunrise’s Aqours group is finally hitting the UK & Ireland on Blu-ray as Anime Limited have now unveiled the artwork for the upcoming release.

The complete first season collector’s edition Blu-ray will include all 13 episodes across 2 discs housed in a rigid box with digipack, 3 vinyl stickers and a 20-page booklet with art from the series, cast interviews, group & member info and more. Unlike the other Anime Limited collector’s sets, this release will be available for up to 500 units only. Standard edition DVD will also be released. Audio options include English & Japanese with English subtitles. The series will be available starting 18th June 2018.


Hyouka

A new update is here for the second half of the series!

Like Part 1, Part 2 will be released as a collector’s edition Blu-ray also. The set includes episodes 12-22 across 2 discs housed in a rigid box with digipack and an 84-page “Material Archive” art book. The set is designed so that it will fit inside Part 1’s Collector Box. Standard edition DVD will also be released. Audio options include English & Japanese with English subtitles. The series will be available starting 25th June 2018.


Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin

The next Gundam title to be released was revealed not too long ago! Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin I-IV will feature the first four OVAs released in a collection currently known as the ‘Chronicle of Char and Sayla’.

Like the previous Gundam sets the first 1000 units of this release will feature a box to house the sets across two Blu-ray cases and discs plus 4 artcards. Audio options include English & Japanese with English subtitles. The series will be available starting 28th May 2018.


Assassination Classroom Season 2

At long last the final part of the anime series is almost here.

Modelled similarly to the Gundam UK sets, Part 1 came with a box to house the series while Part 2 will include a booklet. The set includes episodes 14-25 across 2 discs on a standard Blu-ray case with an artbook. The set is designed so that it will fit inside Part 1’s Collector Box. Standard edition DVD will also be released. Audio options include English & Japanese with English subtitles. The series will be available starting 16th April 2018.


Sword Art Online II

Much like the Persona 3 movies, Sword Art Online II will also be receiving standard Blu-ray re-releases.

The first 1000 units of Part 1 will include a box to house all four standard Blu-ray part sets. The discs will be identical to the previous release. Audio options include English & Japanese with English subtitles.

Part 1 (episodes 1-7) is available starting 28th May 2018
Part 2 (episodes 8-14.5) is available starting 25th June 2018
Part 3 (episodes 15-19) is available starting 30th July 2018
Part 4 (episodes 20-24) is available starting 27th August 2018


Next Going Out of Print title: Sword of the Stranger Collector’s Edition Combo Pack

There hasn’t been that many titles falling under the ‘Going Out of Print’ banner for a while, but recently another title has joined the ranks. The December 2017 release of Sword of the Stranger is now going out of print, and there are some copies left remaining.

The set features the film on both Blu-ray & DVD housed in a rigid box with a digipack and 40-page booklet. The on-disc content from the previous Beez release are all intact and any errors from that release have been corrected in the Anime Limited version. Audio options include English & Japanese with English subtitles. You can order the release over on Shop AllTheAnime.


Spring 2018 License: Lupin the Third Part 5

The legendary thief returns to steal Anime Limited once again with the new anime series now acquired by the distributor. The series will be simulcasting on Crunchyroll in Japanese audio with English subtitles every Tuesday at 7:30pm BST.


Spring 2018 License: Tokyo Ghoul:re

The new series of Tokyo Ghoul returns and Anime Limited have acquired it to complete their TG anime collection. The series will be simulcasting on Crunchyroll in Japanese audio with English subtitles every Tuesday at 9:15pm BST.
