Anime Limited Details More August 2021 UK Home Video Slate Additions with Love Live! Sunshine!! Over the Rainbow, Lupin III: The First & Gundam SEED Re-releases

We are now half-way through the year of 2021. UK distributor Anime Limited has revealed more information for their upcoming Summer plans. While previous monthly slates have revealed titles from two months ahead, this time they’re focusing on the remainder of the August 2021 slate which includes another surprise license announcement.

The distributor has also revealed there will be a Summer sale in August that may come with a few surprises (i.e. new products). Like the previous monthly updates, the early bird schedule for this month will also be detailed below.

July 2021 Slate:

Starting off the news with a recap of the distributor’s release schedule for July 2021. Compared to the previous monthly news update, some titles were pushed back from June into July.

Before we delve into the new additions coming this August, here’s a brief recap on what was already unveiled for the release schedule.

2nd August:

  • Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans Part 2 standard Blu-ray (SRP £59.99)

For new additions we have two films joining the August 2021 line-up.

The first is a brand new license with Love Live! Sunshine!! the School Idol Movie: Over the Rainbow. Previously released as a Japanese import only offer and was available through Screen Anime for streaming, the film will now finally make its way over to the UK on Blu-ray from the distributor, joining the first two seasons.

The film will be available as a collector’s edition Blu-ray release, retailing for SRP £34.99. Scheduled for 30th August, it will come in a rigid box packaging with an Amaray case to house the disc, and a 24-page booklet. Artwork is currently pending. An early bird offer will be available for £19.99 starting Friday 9th July 2021.

The second is Lupin III: The First. Recently released in UK theaters at select locations, the film is now coming to Blu-ray & DVD, joining Lupin the Third Part IV and The Woman Called Fujiko Mine.

The film will be available as a collector’s edition Blu-ray & DVD release, retailing for SRP £39.99. Scheduled for 30th August, it will come in a rigid box packaging with an Amaray case to house the discs, and a 64-page booklet. Artwork is currently pending. An early bird offer will be available for £24.99 starting Friday 16th July 2021.

Surprise! Gundam SEED Re-release:

Last year Anime Limited revealed plans to release Mobile Suit Gundam SEED in an ultimate edition Blu-ray box set that was close to matching the Nozomi Entertainment North American release. That box set took a while to arrive due to disc issues, but eventually made its way to the UK at the end of May. The distributor has confirmed that ultimate edition is pretty much close to selling out, so in response they are now offering a new edition for those who missed out.

Scheduled for 6th September and 4th October respectively, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED collector’s edition Part 1 will come with a rigid box to house both parts of the series, while Part 2 will include a 48-page booklet. These two sets will only cover the HD Remaster of the television series. Both parts will retail for SRP £59.99 each.

An early bird offer will be available for £34.99 for each part starting Friday 2nd July 2021.
