Anime Limited News: Angelic Layer Blu-ray Release, B: The Beginning Home Video Announcement, and more

Distributor Anime Limited have announced a few updates over the past few weeks. We already covered the reveal of their Q4 2018 release slate which you can view here and it also comes with a couple new updates including the addition of Kiznaiver’s DVD version and a delay for Eureka Seven: Hi-Evolution.

B: The Beginning

Another Netflix title joins the Anime Limited catalogue, as Production I.G’s B: The Beginning will be coming to Blu-ray in 2019 from the distributor.

Netflix streamed the series as part of their Netflix Originals line-up worldwide back in March 2018 across multiple audio & subtitle languages. The UK home video release will have both English & Japanese audio with English subtitles. A second season is currently in production from Production I.G. More info on the license announcement here.

Angelic Layer

Announced back in MCM London Comic Con May 2018, we now have an update on the upcoming re-release of Angelic Layer. The new release will be under Anime Limited’s distribution as a collector’s edition Blu-ray set.

The set contains all 26 episodes in both English & Japanese audio with English subtitles across 3 Blu-ray discs using the Sentai Filmworks master. The collector’s release will also include a 40-page booklet.

The release date is currently set for 24th September 2018 on Blu-ray. More information on the product here.

OUT OF PRINT Status

Anime Limited have a mini-update on the next batch of titles going out of print.

First we have Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam Part 2’s 1000 unit edition that comes with the booklet. This version is now under the ‘low stock’ section so if you want to own it, best to get it as soon as possible. Once it’s gone it’ll be replaced with a regular edition without the booklet.

Next we have Love Live! Sunshine!! Season 1’s collector’s edition which is no longer available for sale on Shop AllTheAnime as the stock has sold out. The release is notable for only having 500 units produced. You can still pickup the release across multiple retailers for the time being.

Also no longer available for sale is Ping Pong the Animation’s collector’s edition. Stock is extremely low across all retailers so if you want to own the set get it immediately.

For more information on other titles going out of print you can view their selection here.
