Calamity of a Zombie Girl to be Unleashed By Anime Limited

Following their announcement of Sword Art Online: Alicization and select Funimation titles, Anime Limited rounded off today’s MCM London Comic Con panel by announcing the release of a film that had its EU premiere at the recently concluded Scotland Loves Anime film festival: Calamity of a Zombie Girl.

Finishing in last place in both the Jury and Audience Awards, the original net animation by GONZO (Afro Samurai) and Stingray adapts Ryō Ikehata’s light novel series into a single 80 minute feature, helmed by Hideaki Iwami in his directorial debut, with a score by Kow Otani (Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz).

Scotland Loves Anime describes Calamity of a Zombie Girl as follows:

When a zombie named Euphrosyne awakens after a century-long slumber, she finds herself coming face-to-face with a group of five university students – a stand-off that leads to a bloody battle for all concerned, revolving around a secret stone hidden in the depths of the campus’ archives.

Anime Limited will be releasing the feature on home video in 2019.

Update: An earlier version of this article mentioned that Calamity of a Zombie Girl was available for streaming on Crunchyroll. However, the title is region locked and unavailable in the UK at time of writing.
