It is now 2019 and two more anime theatrical films have made their way onto the Netflix platform.
The first is Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!, which was released theatrically in Japan on July 2017. This is the 20th Pokémon theatrical film serving as a reboot to the anime franchise, retelling of how Ash and Pikachu first meet. The film was released in the UK both theatrically and on home video by Manga Entertainment. The Netflix stream is available in English audio with English Closed Caption subtitles as well as other European languages available.
The second is The Seven Deadly Sins the Movie: Prisoners of the Sky, which was released theatrically in Japan on August 2018. This is the first theatrical anime film for The Seven Deadly Sins and much like the main anime series has also been added onto Netflix with both English & Japanese audio with English subtitles as well as other languages available (which vary between each territory).
Netflix will have plenty in store for anime throughout 2019, starting with Godzilla: The Planet Eater coming to the platform on 9th January in multiple audio and subtitle languages. This is the third and final anime film in the trilogy of Godzilla CG anime from Polygon Pictures and Gen Urobuchi. The film was theatrically released in Japan on November 2018.
