Studio Trigger’s PROMARE UK Blu-ray & DVD Details Revealed with June 2020 Release Window

Distributor Anime Limited has revealed more information for their upcoming home video release of studio Trigger’s original anime film PROMARE, which had its UK theatrical premiere late last year. The film had been made available for pre-order across multiple retailers for a while but now the distributor has revealed the latest updates for the collector’s edition.

Previously estimated to be 1st June, the film is currently now scheduled for 29th June 2020 in both collector’s edition and standard edition sets. Both editions will use the same discs.

Collector’s Edition Details:

The biggest change in terms of the latest information goes to the collector’s edition release. Originally planned to be a Blu-ray & DVD combo pack, instead, it will become a Blu-ray only set thanks to the inclusion of the film’s original soundtrack on CD by composer Hiroyuki Sawano (Attack on Titan). The DVD standard edition will still be available for those who do not have a Blu-ray player.

Also included in the collector’s edition is a 52-page booklet, a 128-page English script book, a 34x40cm poster, and a decal sticker. All of this plus the Blu-ray and Soundtrack discs will be available for the SRP price of £39.99. The early bird is available on Shop AllTheAnime for £24.99 until Thursday 21st May 2020 unless stock runs out sooner.

Released on the same day as the collector’s edition will be a standard edition release on both Blu-ray and DVD formats. The Blu-ray disc in both the collector’s edition and standard edition will include the following contents:

  • The original Japanese language with English subtitles
  • An English dub
  • An interview With Director Hiroyuki Imaishi
  • Studio TRIGGER Roundtable
  • “Side: Galo” and “Side: Lio” – Two short films that weren’t previously shown at UK cinemas (both are also available dubbed and subbed)
  • Behind the Scenes with the English Dub cast

The DVD standard edition disc will also contain the original Japanese language with English subtitles and an English dub. Both sets are also available on Shop AllTheAnime.

Soundtrack Details:

As previously mentioned, the UK Collector’s Edition Blu-ray set will include the film’s original soundtrack. This is the same soundtrack that was made available standalone in Japan, and worth noting that the UK CD does not include the re-arranged & re-mix music that was made available separately from the film’s original soundtrack months after it was released in Japan. Anime Limited acquired the rights for PROMARE in October 2019 and gave the film a UK theatrical release across two days on Tuesday 26th November and Thursday 28th November, one day for the Japanese audio and another day for the English audio. The English dub was produced by NYAV Post and features well-known VAs including Billy Kametz (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable), Johnny Yong Bosch (Bleach), Crispin Freeman (Hellsing), Steve Blum (Cowboy Bebop), Matt Mercer (Attack on Titan) and Yuri Lowenthal (Code Geass).

Studio TRIGGER has worked on a number of anime projects such as Kill la Kill, Inferno Cop, Little Witch Academia, BNA: Brand New Animal, Ninja Slayer and have collaborated with different studios for both Darling in the FRANXX and SSSS.GRIDMAN.

That’s it for the latest news on PROMARE’s home video release for the United Kingdom and Ireland. As specified, the film will be available on Blu-ray and DVD starting 29th June 2020 across both collector’s edition and standard edition sets.
