Funimation UK Announces Attack on Titan: The Final Season, Isekai Quartet, Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle, Yona of the Dawn & More for Q1 2022 Home Video Schedule

We’re nearing the end of 2021, and distributor Funimation have announced their home video release plans for the first quarter of 2022 for the United Kingdom and Ireland territories.

The UK batch introduces another mixture of new anime that aired in recent years as well as re-releases, new catalog titles and a few limited edition releases.

Artwork posted below are from the Funimation US version, though the final product tends to be the same but with BBFC logos.

As before, some of these may receive major pushbacks so do not be surprised if a title or two are delayed (like Golden Kamuy).

31st January 2022

Starting off the new year, at the end of January, is the first season of Isekai Quartet which is the crossover short series from Kadokawa featuring characters from Konosuba, OVERLORD, Re:ZERO and Saga of Tanya the Evil. The series will be presented as a regular Blu-ray set.

This collection covers all 12 episodes with English & Japanese audio with English subtitles.

7th February 2022

Next we have the fourth season of Yu Yu Hakusho which wraps up the 112 episode series. The fourth season will be presented in a first print edition Blu-ray set to match the previous three.

This collection covers episodes 85-112 with English & Japanese audio with English subtitles.

14th February 2022

Another Funimation co-produced series also lands into the UK with the first season of By the Grace of the Gods. The series will be presented as a regular Blu-ray set.

This collection covers all 12 episodes with English & Japanese audio with English subtitles.

Funimation is offering a limited edition release in the United States & Canada but currently there are no plans for the same treatment in the United Kingdom & Ireland.

21st February 2022

The fourth season of My Hero Academia receives a complete season Blu-ray collection, after an awkwardly long gap between the two part releases in 2020 & 2021.

This collection covers all 25 episodes (episodes 64-88) with English & Japanese audio with English subtitles.

Also scheduled is the third series of Robotech covering The New Generation saga, which is an English edited version of the 1983 Japanese series Genesis Climber MOSPEADA. The series will be presented as a regular Blu-ray set.

This collection covers all 25 episodes (episodes 61-85) with English audio with English Hard of Hearing subtitles.

7th March 2022

Another Funimation UK title originally distributed by Anime Limited makes a return with Yona of the Dawn, now arriving as a complete series collection in both standard and limited edition Blu-ray sets.

This collection covers all 24 episodes with English & Japanese audio with English subtitles. The limited edition, never produced for the US branch, includes a rigid box, 32 page booklet and 6 art cards.

14th March 2022

Another new series making its UK home video debut is Log Horizon: Destruction of the Round Table, the third season of the popular isekai series which is now being distributed under Funimation rather than Sentai Filmworks in United States. The series will be presented as a regular Blu-ray set.

This collection covers all 12 episodes with English & Japanese audio with English subtitles.

21st March 2022

Another new series making its UK home video debut is Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle, the comfy slice-of-life comedy series. The series will be presented as a regular Blu-ray set.

This collection covers all 12 episodes with English & Japanese audio with English subtitles.

Also scheduled is the first season of Dr. STONE now presented as a complete season Blu-ray collection, not long after its steelbook edition.

This collection covers all 25 episodes with English & Japanese audio with English subtitles.

Joining this batch is also the second season of Isekai Quartet. The series will be presented as a regular Blu-ray set.

This collection covers all 12 episodes with English & Japanese audio with English subtitles.

28th March 2022

Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 1 makes its UK home video debut one month after the US release in both standard and limited edition Blu-ray sets.

Part 1 covers the first cour of the season, episodes 1-16, with English & Japanese audio with English subtitles. The limited edition is expected to be the same version as the US release, which includes a 32-page Digibook packaging, 5 Art Cards, and 3 Enamel Pins. Previous limited editions for the second and third season were packaged similarly.

That’s all of the news revealed from their official blog post. Golden Kamuy Seasons 1 & 2 are both still scheduled for 24th January and 28th March respectively, while the limited edition release of Plunderer Part 1 is currently scheduled for 31st January.
