Anime Limited Reveals October 2023 Pre-orders with Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna, To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts & More
Anime Limited have recently announced the next batch of pre-orders and updates to their release date for the month of October via their latest newswire blogpost.
In addition, there have been a few other updates over the past few weeks.
Release Date Pushbacks:
There have been a number of delays as many UK anime fans have noticed, caused by production issues or supply issues beyond the distributor’s control, which lead to a number of collector’s edition releases planned throughout the Summer delayed until mid-September for various retailers.
Unfortunately it was also revealed in the past few weeks that it is also affecting their newer releases for various reasons. One of them has yet to receive stock so there’s a potential delay there as well.
- Ascendance of a Bookworm Seasons 1 & 2 – Moved from 25th September to 27th November
- Burn the Witch – Moved from 25th September to 30th October
- Gundam Build Fighters Part 1 – Moved from 18th September to 13th November
- Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water – Listed for 2nd October but they have yet to receive stock at the time of this write-up

The collector’s edition Blu-ray release (SRP £44.99) is scheduled to be released from Anime Limited’s store on 6th November 2023.
Re:cycle of the Penguindrum is a two-part film compilation for the television series Mawaru Penguindrum by studio Brain’s Base and director Kunihiko Ikuhara (Revolutionary Girl Utena). Part 1: Your Train is the Survival Tactic (Kimi no Ressha wa Seizon Senryaku) released in Japanese theaters in April 2022, followed by Part 2: I Love You (Boku wa Kimi o Aishiteru) in July 2022.
Audio options include Japanese audio with English subtitles and the Sentai Studios English dub (which features a different voice cast compared to the television series).

Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna
Release Date: 27th November 2023
A couple years ago, distributor Manga Entertainment (before they got bought by Funimation, who then bought Crunchyroll, and then rebranded as Crunchyroll UK) released Digimon Adventure Tri for the United Kingdom. Now a few more years later, UK Digimon fans can finally watch the next instalment called Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna, set after both the events of the original Digimon Adventure series and the Digimon Adventure Tri film series, which will be released by Anime Limited this time around and presented in a collector’s edition Blu-ray & DVD package.
The collector’s edition Blu-ray & DVD release (SRP £39.99) is scheduled to be released from Anime Limited’s store on 26th November 2023. Pre-orders will begin on Thursday 5th October (EB: £29.99, EB w/discount: £26.99).

Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna (デジモンアドベンチャー Last Evolution 絆) is a 2020 theatrical anime film directed by Tomohisa Taguchi (Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War) and produced by studio Toei Animation (The First Slam Dunk) and Yumeta Company (Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning). Staff credits also include writer Akatsuki Yamatoya (To Love Ru), character designer Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru (Digimon Adventure), and music composed by Harumi Fuuki (The Deer King).

During a US convention, Anime Limited announced they were expanding into the United States more by revealing a few more releases, most of their announcements were Crunchyroll sub-licenses, and one of them is now finally scheduled for home video – To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts.
The collector’s edition Blu-ray release (SRP £69.99) is scheduled to be released from Anime Limited’s store on 30th October 2023. Pre-orders will begin on Thursday 12th October (EB: £39.99, EB w/discount: £35.99).
Audio options include Japanese audio with English subtitles and the STUDIOPOLIS, Inc. English dub commissioned by Crunchyroll.

To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts (かつて神だった獣たちへ) is a 2019 television series based on the manga of the same name written & illustrated by Maybe (Tales of Wedding Rings). The anime adaptation was directed by Jun Shishido (The Princess and the Pilot) and produced by studio MAPPA (Jujutsu Kaisen). Staff credits also include writer Shigeru Murakoshi (Zombie Land Saga), character designer Daisuke Niinuma (sub-character designer for Attack on Titan: The Final Season), and music composed by Yoshihiro Ike (Tiger & Bunny).

A surprise license announcement for the UK anime fans. Anime Limited will be releasing Hula Fulla Dance for home video. The film had previously screened at Scotland Loves Anime last year, but some eagle-eyed viewers may have figured out they had the rights when Crunchyroll added it to their streaming service with no availability for the UK as well as the staff involved whom Anime Limited are big fans of.

Hula Fulla Dance (フラ・フラダンス) is a 2021 theatrical anime film directed by Shinya Watada (Gundam Build Divers) and produced by studio Bandai Namco Pictures (Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun). Staff credits also include chief director Seiji Mizushima (Fullmetal Alchemist), writer Reiko Yoshida (Liz and the Blue Bird), character designer Hiroko Yaguchi (Aikatsu!), and music composed by Michiru Oshima (Little Witch Academia). This film is also part of the Zutto Ōen Project 2011 + 10… project alongside The House of the Lost on the Cape (which Anime Limited recently released earlier this year).

An interesting addition to the collection is a television short series that was released in the theaters as a double-bill with Fortune Favors Lady Nikuko by Anime Limited and GKIDS. “Deiji” Meets Girl is going to be released on home video by Anime Limited in a collector’s edition package.

“Deiji” Meets Girl (でーじミーツガール) is a 2021 television short anime series by director and character designer Ushio Tazawa (character designer for The Heroic Legened of Arslan) and produced by studio Liden Films (Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun). Staff credits also include writer & original character designer Akane Malbeni and music composed by Hiroshi Nakamura (Tonari no Seki-kun: The Master of Killing Time).
