Sailor Moon to Receive Blu-ray Steelbook Release
After over a year of speculation following Crunchyroll announcing the series at MCM London Comic Con back in 2024, online retailer Amazon has uploaded listings seemingly confirming that Naoko Takeuchi’s seminal shojo magical girl anime Sailor Moon is finally set to be released on Blu-ray in the United Kingdom and Ireland, with the first season releasing on Blu-ray Steelbook on 24th August 2026.
According to Amazon, the series will be released across five Blu-ray Steelbook releases, with each including their respective seasons over five discs. The first four seasons are currently available to pre-order for £69.99 each (UPDATE: Per listings by Anime-On-Line, we can now see that the RRP for the sets are reportedly £79.99 each).
- Sailor Moon (Season 1, 48 episodes) – 24th August 2026.
- Sailor Moon R (Season 2, 43 episodes) – 28th September 2026.
- Sailor Moon S (Season 3, 38 episodes) – 26th October 2026.
- Sailor Moon Super S (Season 4, 39 episodes) – 30th November 2026.
- Sailor Moon Sailor Stars (Season 5, 34 episodes) – 11th January 2027.

Usagi Tsukino is an ordinary eighth-grader who can be clumsy and a bit of a crybaby. But when she saves Luna, a talking black cat, she receives a transformation brooch. Now, Usagi fights for love and justice as Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon!
An adaptation of the original manga by Naoko Takeuchi, Sailor Moon was produced by Toei Animation between 1992-1997. A localised version of the anime was previously broadcast in the United Kingdom on the now defunct Fox Kids TV channel. Per the description of the releases’ special features, these Blu-ray Steelbooks will include the newer “uncut” English dub produced by Viz Media starting in 2014.
