The Testament of Sister New Devil Season 1 rated 18 uncut/uncensored by the BBFC
A while back we reported that the ecchi loving series Monster Musume received an 18 uncut/uncensored rating by the BBFC and many had been relieved by this. However, as soon as that show got rated there were a few more titles that sparked a bit of a debate on whether it would receive the same result. Two of which won’t be out for some time (the Animerama films from Third Window) but the other is soon to be upon us.
That title is the first season of The Testament of Sister New Devil, which is the first title to be released under Crunchyroll x Funimation from Anime Limited. The series is known for its ecchi harem glory and while some might argue that it’s not a big deal the show does have some aspects that are debatable like the OVA episode for instance.
Well we are happy to inform folks that the show has just been rated by the British Board of Film Classification with a rating of 18 completely uncut and uncensored for all 12 episodes plus the OVA. We see the BBFC are a man of culture as well it seems. The reasoning for the rating is “strong sex, sex references”. You can view the listing here.
Anime Limited & Funimation described the series as follows:
When a pair of sexy girls, Maria and Mio, come to live with high school student Basara Tojo, his life changes forever. The two girls have a secret that they don’t keep for long – Maria is a succubus, and Mio is a future Demon Lord. But Basara has a secret of his own – he’s the last descendant from a clan of demon-fighting heroes. To make things even more complicated, the girls force Basara into a master-servant contract, and Basara ends up becoming their master!
What happens when you put a succubus, a demoness, and a demon-fighting hero under the same roof? They form a bond that will help them to take on anything!
The UK release will be released as a collector’s edition Blu-ray set and a standard edition DVD set in both English & Japanese audio with English subtitles. The collector’s edition contents are currently unknown but the on-disc features should be identical to the Funimation US release which features Maria’s Secret Video, Textless Opening & Closing Songs, and Trailers.
Anime Limited currently have the first season scheduled for sometime this Q1 2018 but an exact release is not known for the time being. You can watch the series over on Crunchyroll.
