Studio Colorido’s Typhoon Noruda to stream on HIDIVE

HIDIVE continues to add new additions to their ever growing streaming catalogue and one of them is going to be Studio Colorido’s short film Typhoon Noruda.

Typhoon Noruda (Taifuu no Noruda) will be streaming exclusively on HIDIVE and available in both the original Japanese audio with English subtitles and the English dub produced by Sentai Filmworks. You can view the film’s page on their site right now in preparation for its launch date in a couple of days away at the time of this article (estimated to be sometime around early May).

Sentai Filmworks describes the anime’s story as follows:

In Typhoon Noruda, an unexpected typhoon bears down on a small tropical island, and a group of students trapped at school find themselves forced to put aside their personal issues and work together. Not only to save themselves, but possibly the lives of everyone on the planet! Because there’s something very strange about this storm, and as the driving rain, hurricane-force winds and multiple lightning strikes threaten to tear their world apart, everything seems to revolve around a mysterious girl who appears as suddenly as the storm itself. Only hours before, Shuichi Azuma and Saijo Kunta were at each other’s throats over baseball; now they’ll have to join together to unravel the secret of the ultimate rider on the storm!

Released in 2015, Typhoon Noruda won the ‘New Face Award’ at the 19th Japan Media Arts Festival. The film is directed by Youjirou Arai who has worked on a number of anime titles with Studio Colorido including a Puzzle & Dragons commerical. Music band Galileo Galilei performed the film’s theme song “Arashi no Atode” which is also available to view on their official YouTube channel and other music supported platforms.

Studio Colorido have worked on a number of projects including Typhoon Noruda over the past decade, and they will soon be releasing their first feature-length film with Penguin Highway (which was recently announced to be heading to UK & Ireland cinemas in 2019 by Anime Limited).
