Anime Limited Issues Your Name Blu-ray Replacement Scheme Update

Following the long-awaited home video release of anime super hit Your Name last November, distributor Anime Limited issued a statement regarding reported issues with the Blu-ray disc’s picture quality, promising a replacement scheme in the future.

That future, is now. Customers who pre-registered their interest with the company, received an email today informing them that new discs will be available to be sent out from 22nd October 2018. If you have purchased a copy of Your Name on Blu-ray and are not yet registered for the scheme, the distributor advises that you email them at [email protected] with a subject line of YOUR NAME – BLU-RAY, and a brief message explaining the issue with your current copy.

“One thing is certain. If we see each other, we’ll know.”

Mitsuha (Mone Kamishiraishi) and Taki (Ryunosuke Kamiki) have never met, but when the frustrated country girl wishes of a life in the big city, they will forge a connection both unexplainable and unforgettable.

In their dreams, the two swap lives, cultures and genders as they learn more about, and grow closer to, each other. What was once a shock becomes a joy-filled double life, but what will happen when they discover the red string of fate tying them together?

The new discs will also be entering circulation in newer print-runs of the Standard Edition blu-ray. However, it is currently not yet known if there will be any way of identifying which master a copy is using.

A critically acclaimed global sensation, Makoto Shinkai’s Your Name was released theatrically in the United Kingdom on 24th November 2016. The film was later released on Blu-ray and DVD on 6 November 2017.
