MVM Licenses Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel, Scum’s Wish & More!

Get ready to experience the latest and darkest chapter of the Holy Grail War, MVM Entertainment have announced plans to release the Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel feature film trilogy on home video in the UK & Ireland!

A highly anticipated adaptation of Type-Moon’s popular Fate/stay night video game, the Heaven’s Feel trilogy tells an alternate story route centering around Sakura Matou, and the true nature of the Holy Grail War. The first film, subtitled presage flower, was released in Japan in October 2017, and finally had its UK premiere at Scotland Loves Anime earlier this month. The second, subtitled lost butterly, is currently slated for release in Japan on 12 January 2019.

The film series is currently being directed by Tomonori Sudou (Garden of Sinners/recalled out summer) at ufotable (Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works), with a soundtrack by Yuki Kajiura (Puella Magi Madoka Magica).

Unveiling a new slate of 2019 license announcements, the Wales-based distributor also confirmed plans to release a number of popular titles including mature romance Scum’s Wish, biology lesson in disguise Cells at Work, and more anime previously intended for release by Universal Pictures. Originally simulcast on Amazon Prime Video, Scum’s Wish is a romantic drama series where lofty feelings of love are less pretty rose petals, but more painful thorns. Hanabi Yasuraoka and Mugi Awaya are far from in love; their relationship being one of convenience to numb the loneliness of loves neither can achieve. Sentai Filmworks, the US licensor for the series, describes it as:

Hanabi has loved her older friend Narumi for years, but she’s still in high school and not only is Narumi now her new homeroom teacher, he’s also clearly in love with the music teacher, Akane. And as awkward as being the unwanted third in a romantic triangle can be, things become even more twisted for Hanabi when she learns that another student, Mugi, is in love with Akane. That leads to a strange idea: since the ones that Mugi and Hanabi are in love with aren’t available, the two unrequited thirds start to explore the idea of becoming each other’s substitute surrogate relationship. It’s not about romance, of course. Just sex and convenience. Or at least that’s what they keep telling themselves as love’s wires become hopelessly crossed and ensnarled.

MVM Entertainment also confirmed that release details for a selection of these, and previously announced titles like Made in Abyss and Princess Principal, will be available on their website next week.
