Anime Limited Reveals March 2023 Pre-orders with Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 Part 2 & Levius on Blu-ray!

It has been a couple of months since Anime Limited have provided a newswire on what we can expect to see for the current months. With the past few months focusing mainly on pre-orders from the Christmas sale, the distributor is now moving ahead with their March slate which features a few dates for pre-existing titles and early birds for more upcoming releases.

This month’s early bird list includes another batch of releases that will once again be available for a special offer, but we also have two new additions (well technically one, but we’ll explain that below) joining the list so let’s take a look at what you can pre-order this month:

Goodbye, Don Glees!

Release Date: 24th April 2023

Making a return from the Christmas early bird slate, Goodbye, Don Glees! now finally has its packaging and artwork revealed, but the release has been pushed back from its original January date (then March) to this April. As known previously, the film will be coming to Blu-ray & DVD in a collector’s edition package.

The early bird offer is £29.99 (£27 for Anime Unlimited members) which starts on Thursday 2nd March and will conclude on Thursday 9th March just before the next early bird title starts.

Retailing for £44.99 SRP, the set includes a rigid box, Blu-ray case, an original soundtrack CD, A3 poster and a 160-page Storyboard book. Audio options include Japanese with English subtitles and the NYAV Post English dub commissioned by GKIDS for their release.

Goodbye, Don Glees! released in 2022 in Japan and was worked on by director & writer Atsuko Ishizuka (The Pet Girl of Sakurasou, A Place Further than the Universe) and produced by studio Madhouse (Death Note, OVERLORD) alongside music composer Yoshiki Fujisawa (A Place Further than the Universe).

“Teen misfits Roma, Toto, and Drop call themselves the “Don Glees,” an informal name for their backyard adventures. One day, when the trio gets blamed for a nearby forest fire, they set off into the woods to prove their innocence. As disaster strikes their expedition, tensions flare between the friends as they realize that growing up has taken them on wildly different paths in life.”

Release Date: 24th April 2023

Next we have a brand new license announcement! Anime Limited has acquired the UK home video rights to the anime adaptation of Levius, which streamed exclusively through Netflix since 2019. The series will be released on Blu-ray in a collector’s edition package.

The early bird offer is £44.99 (£40.50 for Anime Unlimited members) which starts on Thursday 16th March.

Retailing for £69.99 SRP, the set includes a rigid box, Blu-ray case, two original soundtrack CDs, poster and a 52-page booklet. Audio options include Japanese with English subtitles and the VSI Group English dub commissioned by Netflix during streaming, which Viz Media has also re-used for their North American release.

Levius is based on Haruhisa Nakata’s manga series released in 2012, which is also available in English in a hardcover print format by Viz Media via their SIGNATURE label. The anime was adapted by studio Polygon Pictures (Knights of Sidonia) with staff credits including director Keisuke Ide, chief director Hiroyuki Seshita, writers Hiroshi Seko (Chainsaw Man) and Kenta Ihara (Full Dive), and music composed by Yugo Kanno (PSYCHO-PASS).

“As a boy, Levius lost his mother and his right arm in the war. Throwing himself into the arena, demanding he call on all his strength and endure great pains, he must push himself to victory and perhaps save a young woman who may be beyond redemption.”

Last but not least we have our second new release with Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1‘s second half, which was actually revealed for July 2022’s early bird line-up but then it was postponed due to various factors. Either way, it’s now back on the schedule and the artwork has been finalised. Part 2 will be released on Blu-ray in both a collector’s edition package and a standard edition, just like Part 1.

The early bird offer is £44.99 (£40.50 for Anime Unlimited members) for the collector’s edition Blu-ray, which starts on Thursday 30th March.

Hardship, regret, shame: the negative feelings that humans feel become Curses that lurk in our everyday lives. The Curses run rampant throughout the world, capable of leading people to terrible misfortune and even death. What’s more, the Curses can only be exorcised by another Curse.

After escaping from Itadori and Nanami, Mojito reunites with Geto and the others to try and move their plan forward. Meanwhile, Jujutsu High is about to host its Kyoto Sister School Exchange Event. Fushiguro, Kugisaki and the second years Maki, Toge, and Panda all meet up to greet Todo and the other Kyoto students on arrival. Sparks immediately start to fly when Gojo rushes in late to the meetup and presents his surprise…”
