About Gundam 00 Season 1 (via Anime Limited):

The year is 2307 A.D. While the Earth’s reserves of fossil fuels have been depleted, humanity has obtained a new, nearly infinite source of energy to replace them in the form of large-scale solar-powered generation systems based on three huge orbital elevators. However, the benefits of this system are available only to a handful of major powers and their allies.

These orbital elevators belong to three superpower blocs: the Union, the Human Reform League and the AEU. These confederations continue to play a grand zero-sum game for the sake of their own prestige and prosperity. Thus, even in the 24th Century, humanity has yet to unite as one.

In this world of unceasing conflict, a private armed organisation steps forward, declaring their intention to eliminate war through martial force. Using the power of their mobile suits combatively, a series of four high-performance machines each dubbed “Gundam,” the paramilitary organisation known as Celestial Being takes the world stage, beginning armed interventions within all the world’s nations.

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Season 2
(aka Gundam 00 Part 2)

Next, we have Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Season 2, it will be available on 16th December 2019 and with an SRP £59.99 price point. Pre-orders won’t be open just yet but the distributor will make it available soon in the coming weeks over at Anime Limited’s online store.

Gundam 00 Season 2 will cover the entirety of the second season with episodes 26-50. Like Season 1 the audio specs and disc content will be similar. The collector’s edition version, which is available for the first 1000 units spread across all retailers, will come with a booklet that can be slotted into the Season 1 Collector’s Box with the two Blu-ray sets together.

On-disc content included with this release is Tactical Forecast #28 – #50, Clean Opening & Ending Title Sequences, and Japanese Audio Commentaries for Season 2 Episodes 1, 3, 8, 14, 17, 20, & 25 (As a whole its episodes 26, 28, 33, 39, 42, 45, and 50).

The Rest of Gundam 00
(aka Gundam 00 Movie & OVAs)

Anime Limited have confirmed that both Mobile Suit Gundam 00: A Wakening of the TrailBlazer and Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Special Edition (a subtitled only compilation of the TV series) are now scheduled for release in 2020. While Japan did release a 4K Ultra HD release for the film, the distributor will only be releasing the 2K Blu-ray version.

The Deluxe Edition Plans

Mentioned on the Anime UK News forums a couple of weeks ago, there had been a change of plans with regards to the ‘Deluxe Edition’ idea for the franchise. Back in May 2019, the distributor mentioned they would be working on providing a deluxe edition that covered the entire franchise together; one for Gundam Wing and another for Gundam 00.

This will no longer happen, but instead they still have a new idea in mind that would offer an additional box to house everything together. Again, these ideas are still in early days and are subject to change over time. Anime Limited have gone in more detail about this on their official blog announcement.

And that is all of the information we have for now with regards to the Gundam 00 franchise. Overall most of the titles revealed during the Celebration of Gundam 40th Anniversary line-up had been scheduled for this year which is great news for UK Gundam fans. Stay tuned for more information from Anime Limited on their future Gundam plans.
