What The Asterisk War lacks in originality, it makes up for in execution, resulting in a highly entertaining and action-packed show, despite unnecessary and off-putting ecchi scenes
Naruto Shippuden returns to disc format with fifteen episodes that’s roughly half manga adaptations this time. Is that a good thing? Well, yes, obviously, though the way they’re woven into the story is like someone constantly walking into your room and pressing pause button every half an hour…
Despite its potential, Flip Flappers is a hard series to recommend. If you’re an avid Magical Girl fan and want something a bit different, this series might possibly fill the void, but it will only be fondly remembered by a small core audience in years to come.
Volume 73 is Bleach’s penultimate book, but as we head towards the big finale, is the series suitably red-hot, or are we just plodding along to the end?
Dragon Ball Super reaches it first big, non-tournament arc as the evil “Goku Black” appears to re-ruin Future Trunks’ already dystopian world… but before that, standalone comedy episodes! Hooray!
Hitomi Takano continues to weave a compelling but disturbing narrative about an older woman's friendship with a boy in the second volume of the ongoing series My Boy.

Overall Pokémon Black & White Movie Collection is a mixed bag. Older Pokémon fans like me will be left wanting for much better content and days gone by when Pokémon movies were actively good, but the younger/newer audience are more likely to get a kick out of Ash’s latest adventures.
Big Fish and Begonia is a breakthrough film in the still-emerging Chinese animation field, but is there anything beyond the admittedly jaw-dropping visuals to make it worth your time and money?
Fate/Extra Last Encore is an unusual addition to the Fate anime line-up so far - however it's worth the time to stream if you’re a Fate fan and keep your expectations low.
Overall this live action adaptation of Tokyo Ghoul is an enjoyable watch. It doesn’t necessarily have the same pull as the original manga or its anime adaption but for existing fans it’s interesting to see the story adapted in a different way.
It’s a shame that this release lacks the Japanese track, and the Blu-ray conversion is far from perfect, but if you’ve been dying to update your old DVD copy, or have never acquainted yourself with Vampire Hunter D, there’s never been a better time.
