When Belle discovers the Beast’s secret – another Belle, his fiancée, imprisoned in crystal in the castle’s rose courtyard – she resolves to help him break the curse placed upon him and the castle by the witch Madame La Médium, as it may give her hints in finding her mother. However, she quickly finds that doing so puts her in greater danger than she might have imagined, while she struggles to accept that she can never have the man, or beast, she loves.
