The Summer Season 2021 is over so the writers at Anime UK News are here to share their thoughts about some of the returning/continuing series. But... have we picked the ‘right’ ones?

Kaori Yuki presents a dark and mysterious twist on the classic fairy tale, with this initial volume offering a strong start that focuses on establishing the main cast of characters and the mysteries that swirl around them.

When second-year high school student Haruka Shinozaki starts dating his classmate crush Akiho Kosaka, he believes he now has the girlfriend of his dreams, but this couldn’t be further from the truth as Akiho turns everything into sexual innuendo! Plunged into a world of dirty jokes, Haruka tries to deepen his relationship with her while fending off her and their friends’ hypersexualised behaviour.

The third volume of Shinobu Ohtaka’s Orient is very much a tale of two halves, as it brings the current arc of the story focusing on Tsugumi and the Kosameda band of samurai to a solid conclusion but struggles to get going into the next one.

Riko and Reg’s grand adventure to the bottom of The Abyss takes some dark and sinister turns in a horror movie-esque arc that is very emotional and engaging, even if it feels a little formulaic.

This short-form ecchi comedy series is bottom-of-the-barrel entertainment that sees teachers placed into compromising and erotic situations with their students, who then quickly become the object of their affections.

BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense. is an extremely fun adventure that shores up its defences and offers an expressive and outlandish take on the isekai and video game genres that will have you laughing all the way through.

Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke are assigned their most challenging mission yet – to exterminate a family of spider demons in the forests of Mount Natagumo, where they find themselves hunted by one of the Twelve Kizuki. At the same time, Tanjiro finds himself under attack from both sides, as the demon slayers turn on his demonic sister Nezuko. Will our heroes be able to survive this terrifying ordeal, or fall to their doom?

Love Live! The School Idol Movie is a love letter to the fans that have stuck with μ's all this time, wrapping up the group’s story with plenty of fun and moving moments, while delivering some fantastic songs along the way.
